Changing your space can change your life

Maximal Amir

My Darling Maximalist Amir -- well they didn't know they were a maximalist until I breezed into town! Amir is one of the most unique people I know, and what they said to me at the beginning of this journey was, "I don't want there to be any doubt this is MY home." By far, this is the most I've put myself into a design project!! I kept saying to Amir, you're allowing me to itch parts of my brain that have wanted to do these things for so long! They gave me full trust to be weird and wild and inventive. In short Maximal Jen came to play!!

The Hicks-Parker Kitchen Facelift

When I met this kitchen she had not even dreamed of getting a makeover since 1993. This is a 1920's bungalow, so while the client wanted an update, they also wanted it to blend with the historic style of the house. I drew inspiration from this Spanish antiqued tile I found that my client fell madly in love with! I was working on a limited budget, so this facelift was mostly cosmetic -- painted cabinets, new cabinet hardware, fresh backsplash tile, new solid surface countertops, new stainless steel sink, a mobile kitchen cart and a new banquette bench for the eat in kitchen table.
